Hethertons in the Community

At Hethertons Solicitors, we are passionate about supporting the businesses that make York such a vibrant and inspiring place to live and work.

That is why we are so proud to once again sponsor the Small Business of the Year Award at the York Press Business Awards.

This award is especially close to our hearts. For decades, we have worked alongside small businesses in the region, helping owners navigate the challenges of growth, supporting them through change and celebrating their successes.

We know first-hand the resilience, creativity and determination it takes to build something that not only survives but thrives.

The three finalists for this year’s award demonstrate exactly why York’s small business community is so remarkable:

• Sewcialising – A creative fabric shop and sewing studio that has turned a love for craft into a thriving hub where people learn, connect and share skills.
• The Old Grey Mare – A much-loved York pub that is more than just a local, it is a true community landmark where people come together to enjoy food, drink and stories.
• Open Velocity – A marketing consultancy that helps businesses unlock their potential through smart, strategic advice and a focus on real, measurable growth.

For us at Hethertons, sponsoring this award is not just about recognising excellence, it is about shining a spotlight on the entrepreneurial spirit that drives our city forward.

We congratulate all three finalists and look forward to joining them at York Racecourse on Thursday 27th November to celebrate the very best of York’s business community.
